The Bing button was added to the Microsoft Edge web browser in early 2023, mostly to give users access to features that leverage ChatGPT. However, the button opens a menu that also gives you quick access to Microsoft 365, Outlook email, card and board games, and more. Whether you don't use the functionality the Bing button gives you, or you feel like its an eyesore and you just want it gone, the Bing button is easy to get rid of.
Now let's walk through the steps to remove the Bing button from the toolbar in Microsoft Edge.
Step 1. Open the Microsoft Edge browser on your computer. You'll land on your Microsoft Edge home screen.
Step 2. Click the ellipses icon at the top of the screen. A menu opens.
Step 3. Click "Settings" in this menu. The Settings screen is displayed.
Step 4. Click "Sidebar" in the menu on the left side of the screen. Sidebar options are shown on the right side of the screen.
Step 5. Navigate to the App and Notification Settings section, and then click "Discover" in this section. Options associated with the Bing button are shown.
Step 6. Click to toggle off "Show Discover." Going forward the Bing button will no longer be displayed in Microsoft Edge.
