In this video, I show a design procedure in how to design an In-Rush Current limit circuit (also know as slow start). In an input filter, we usually add capacitors to the input filter to attenuate the SMPS current from corrupting the input bus or input voltage. However, adding more capacitors to the input filter will increase the in-rush current spike. To lower the in-rush current, you need to add a slow start circuit, or an in-rush current limit.
