"Prelude in D minor BWV 926" J.S. Bach - played on bassetti free-bass accordion (Paul Shigrove)
Up to this point my repertoire has lingered at the Grade 5 conservatory level, but my good friend & part-time musical mentor Richard Walliser has encouraged me to move toward the more advanced levels. So, very gingerly, I've made the huge leap to this Grade 6 piece. Bach gave no tempo indications in music so there are as many different tempi as there are different musicians. I felt that with the aggressive opening mordent & the dramatic "spill" at the end Bach was suggesting a more bold & rapid tempo. However one plays this lovely piece, I think it sounds very beautiful.
