In this video, I will show you how to setup the MACD crossover alert on tradingview. You need to already have your MACD indicator present.
Then, you want to hover over the left side where the indicator is and look for the 3 dots. Click on it and a menu will pop up.
Select “add alert on MACD”. This will open the alert box. On the condition section, go to the second tab and switch the option to “crossing”.
This will give you additional options to choose. Now change the “value” tab to MacD, then switch the option to “signal”.
Now go back up and also change the “histogram” option to “MacD”.
For the trigger option, you can opt to choose “once per bar” or “once per bar close”. I prefer once per bar close as I trade using closing candlesticks.
You can also change the date of the alert if needed.
Go ahead and come up with a custom alert name if you wish.
After that, you can click on the create alert and you are done.
If you want to see your alert settings, click on the alert icon on the right side and you will see the alert notes.
Anytime the MacD blue and yellow lines crossover upon the closing candlesticks, you will get an alert.
