Wear Text: an app to send SMS or WhatsApp messages by voice command from your WearOS device
Update 29 May 2021: please note that since this video was recorded, Google has removed ability to start an app by saying "Open (app name)". Please assign Wear Text (aka Auto Text) to a hardware button instead. Wear Text no longer requires accessibility permission on the watch.
We should be able to send messages by voice command using GAssistant. But this feature is currently broken, has been broken for many months and despite many complaints there seems no prospect of a fix. So Wear Text (aka Auto Text) is a simple WearOS app to restore some of the missing functionality.
