I spent weeks diving into case studies that involved training a muscle at length.. Turns out it's incredibly beneficial! The level of muscle growth from seated hamstrings compared to lying hamstring curls is mind-blowing, probably will never do them again...
Not only that the amount of growth seen in a similar setup study where they had people do neutral tricep extensions with one arm and overhead with the other showed that the overhead variation is far superior. Further studies need to be done with trained individuals, not just a bunch of random untrained people BUT regardless the results are noteworthy.
