Trust me, turn down that brightness when you shoot at night.
I've made the mistake of leaving my brightness high MANY times. Not only have I been disappointed when I returned home to images that were much darker than I thought, but it also messes with your eyes, destroying any night vision you may have had.
As a bonus, I recommend setting monitor brightness to one of the custom buttons on the back of your camera. It's a game changer and will help you adjust the brightness on the fly without having to fumble through the menus.
