Blending two images together in landscape photography
Don't let your camera limit your creativity...
If you're ever in a situation where multiple exposures are needed to capture what you're looking for, don't be afraid to use Photoshop to merge multiple images.
In this situation, I was backpacking in Wyoming and didn't bring an ND filter. I wasn't able to get a long enough exposure of the water without blowing out the sky, so I decided to shoot two images and combine them together.
Combining two images in Photoshop is easy, especially when you use a tripod. Simply use the auto-align feature and a layer mask to paint the second image onto the first.
