Chasca is a playable character set to be released in version 5.2. Today, we have some new confirmed details about her kit and signature weapon. She will be a five-star Anemo unit and a bow user. Her kit looks promising, and she could be an improved version of Wanderer or even Xiao. This information comes from Foul and Uncle K, and it was shared by Team Mew and PTL, so it's considered reliable. However, please note that this is early information and could change during the 5.2 closed beta. Now, let's go over the new details.
Uncle K, a known leaker, shared some info about Chasca’s kit. According to him, Chasca might be able to switch between four different elements: Hydro, Electro, Pyro, and Cryo. i don't think that's actually true though. they probably meant Chasca has the ability to absorb the elements (aside from Geo and Dendro), likely in a similar way to Wanderer. if she can actually switch between elements then This would be a first for any playable character in the game. but if she is like wanderer, then it's something that we have already seen in the game for a while. If it turns out to be true, it’s a big deal, because it means Chasca could fit into lots of different teams. Imagine having one character that can adjust to whatever your team needs. players used to think that Faruzan would be super important for getting the best out of Chasca because they thought she might have an Anemo vision. But Uncle K’s leak suggests that might not be the case, meaning Chasca could work well without needing Faruzan’s support. Another leaker, FouL, also mentioned that Chasca might be able to fly! This ability would come from her Nightsoul state. If she can really do that, exploring Natlan and sumeru with Chasca is going to be easy. she can fly much longer than Scaramouche. Her flying duration is long enough to make exploring the world a lot of fun.
Now, let’s talk about her signature weapon. According to Mero Mero, a reliable leaker, Chasca will use a bow. There’s a picture circulating online, but I can’t share it here to avoid any issues with Mihoyo. On a serious note, she’s also expected to be an Anemo hypercarry. We’ve seen plenty of hypercarry characters, and most Anemo DPS characters tend to fall into that category.
Overall, Chasca seems like a strong character and could become a key part of Natlan's meta. If the leaks are true and she can switch elements, she would be the first character to do so, introducing a new type of gameplay to the game. However, it might be more like Scaramouche’s skill, where he absorbs one element—Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro—when he floats. Each element provides a different boost: Hydro lets him fly longer, Pyro increases his damage, Cryo improves his crit rate, and Electro helps with energy gain. He can only absorb one element at a time.
However, a character's abilities can always change before release, as we saw with Arlecchino during the beta for Version 4.6. Also, while Xianyun in Genshin Impact has a flying ability, the way it's implemented isn't perfect. Although a new Anemo 5-star character is exciting, it's important to keep expectations in check. Chasca is expected to appear on the Event Banners on November 20, 2024.
