Now that we’ve covered the upcoming characters from Version 5.1 to Version 5.3, there’s one character the community hasn’t been discussing much. You’ve probably guessed it from the title—Madame Ping. Despite several leaks about her, including details on her release date, she hasn’t received much attention. In this video, we’ll discuss her Adeptus name, weapon, and expected release date.
Recent leaks from White have hinted at Madame Ping's possible character name if she becomes playable. She is rumored to follow a path similar to Cloud Retainer, adopting a different name for her playable form. This isn’t surprising since her Adeptus title is Streetward Rambler.
The idea of Madame Ping becoming playable has been a topic of discussion for a long time. With a more focused release window now, there’s renewed hope that she might finally be added, even though it’s been four years since her debut with the game’s launch. Over the years, more details about her humanoid Adeptus form, known as Streetward Rambler, have been revealed. So far, no playable character in the game uses an elderly body model, so if the leak is accurate, it’s likely that a younger version of Streetward Rambler will become playable.
We’ve seen something similar with Cloud Retainer, who was first introduced as an animal-shaped NPC, and then her humanoid form was shown in an illustration during the 2023 Lantern Rite Festival. This year, the human form of the Adeptus, known as Xianyun, was released. With the base concept for Streetward Rambler already developed and shown to players, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before Madame Ping is added as a playable character. Genshin Impact’s annual Lantern Rite would be the perfect occasion for this.
According to leaks from Full Stop Chan and HXG, shared in a “Questionable” post on Reddit, Madame Ping might finally become playable during next year’s Lantern Rite. Based on the usual schedule, the event is likely to happen in Version 5.4 in early 2025. The leak also suggests that the playable version of Madame Ping will wield a polearm, which is expected to be beneficial for Xiao due to its rumored 88% CRIT DMG sub-stat.
We don’t know much about her gameplay abilities yet, but we can guess what her Vision might be. Did you know that when you use Xiangling’s burst, Pyronado, she mentions it’s her master’s technique? This line is only in the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean dubs. In the English dub, she says 'Eat this,' but the Japanese line translates to 'Eat my master’s technique.' From recent events, it’s revealed that Xiangling’s master is Madame Ping, meaning Pyronado is her technique. So, does that mean Madame Ping had a Pyro Vision? Or maybe Pyronado is part of her kit, potentially infused with another element? there are so many questions about that. but only time will tell.
As is the case with any leak or speculation mentioned in this video, the information should be taken with a grain of salt. so what do you think about madame ping? let me know in the comments. Until next time.
