Experts say Africa is bearing the brunt of climate change, more than any other continent, with African countries losing an average of 2–5 percent of their GDP due to extreme weather. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) estimated that nearly 118 million people in Africa will be exposed to severe climate change by 2030, if appropriate measures are not taken.
