Matterhorn | DON’T TAKE THIS ROUTE | Zermatt to Lugano
After staying the night in Tasch we walked about 200 yards from our campsite to the train station and hopped on the train to Zermatt. You can only get to Zermatt by train so it was a fun experience and relatively inexpensive. Once we got into town we were able to see the beautiful Swiss town and after coming around one of the turns, were greeted with an incredible view of the Matterhorn. I’m telling you, this is one of the most incredible peaks I’ve ever seen. I’m so glad we got to see it. We considered taking a lift up to one of the viewpoints but since we were crunched for time we decided not to. But it would be a fun adventure for anyone!
After grabbing some delicious doner we head back to the camper to continue on our adventure to Lugano. On the way there we had to cut through Italy. Little did we know we would be greeted with a nightmarish mountain pass. It was sketchy and I personally hated it but it saved us some time. Either way we made it safely to Lugano and our beachfront camping spot.
