This tutorial will teach you how to use Google Chrome Inspect Element to reveal/show passwords using that are saved in your web browser but hidden by dots/asterisks and there is no ‘eye’ icon to show the text version of the password.
You will see •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• in the Password FieldThis tip will show you how to reveal the type in the Password Field
Download Google Chrome:
https://chrome.google.com
How to Reveal Hidden Passwords Using Google Chrome:
1. Open Google Chrome Web Browser
2. Go to a site such as Twitter.com
3. Click on Login
4. Saved Password should be showing all •••••••••••••••
5. Right-click (ctrl + click) in the password field
6. Select ‘Inspect’ from the contextual menu (option + cmd + C)
7. Google Developer Tools will open usually on the right or bottom of the website
8. Make sure ‘Elements’ is selected and there should be highlighted text
9. Look for type=“password”
10. Double-click “password”
11. Type the word “type”
12. Hit Enter/Return to reveal the password
13. Bonus: Double-click on “type” and replace it with password and you will get back the •••••••
Note: You can also see the password in the Inspect Tool listed as Value if you want to save a step and not type in ’Type’
