We decided to start the day heading to the hot springs. We were fortunate to have Old Pedro, one of the most popular hot springs, all to ourselves. We also had full access to many of the other hot springs before the heat kicked in for the day. Then we made up for lost time and set out for Doris Lake. We brought a tube with us and found the ultimate enjoyment just floating out in the middle of the lake. We swam and even did some cliff diving as well. Then we headed back toward the resort. We found some other hot springs by the South Fork San Joaquin River, which I called Mono Creek, down from Old Pedro and closer to the bridge. We just bounced around hot springs and even the creek for our last evening at these amazing hot springs. We learned that if one is willing to journey to such a remote part of the Sierra, or any other place for that matter, there is utterly stunning beauty ready to be discovered.
