Enable syntax highlighting and colors in nano
This Linux tutorial covers syntax highlighting and colors in nano including the system-wide and local nanorc files and the python.nanorc file for a language-specific example.

We use touch to create a .nanorc file and make the -c option the default and point to a python.nanorc file, and edit colors there as an example. We close out with comments about nano versus a full-blown IDE and why we're starting with nano, preferring to introduce another IDE later. We also practice with commands: whatis, nano, ls, clear, mkdir and cp.
Also included is our stack which includes: Debian Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Python for data analysis (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) and presentation tools for the user experience such as Matplotlib, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
