For 99% of cases, you'll use FALSE as the final argument of the VLOOKUP function to do exact matching. In this video though, you'll learn about the use for the TRUE final argument of the VLOOKUP for approximate matching.

It's really useful for things like adding interest rates to a list of account balances, which lie in bounds but do not match exactly to the interest rate bands.
