The December OTA update for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro broke Magisk but the new version of the canary update fixes the issue.

Now that you have the December security update installed on your Pixel 6 series, then you can proceed with regaining root access to the smartphone.
For this to work, though, we need to make sure the canary build of Magisk is installed. This is required until the developer rolls out a new stable release of the app.
Once you're on an updated version, we can then proceed with patching the boot.img file like you normally would. The only requirement here is that you have already disabled Verity and Verification.
So if you haven't, follow that tutorial (linked below) first.

With those two things disabled using the vbmeta.img file, we can then begin the root process by flashing the modified boot.img file via fastboot.
