Anson was a leading bandleader on America's West Coast from the 1920s till the 1960s, and the number one dance band in San Francisco. In the 1950s he returned to the recording studios to make a number of LPs; rather nostalgic in nature, with a preference for the melodies of the 1920s and 1930s, with some exceptions..

Anson's original residency at the Hotel Mark Hopkins was a high point in his career; the recordings made for broadcast in 1932 are amongst the very best dance band performances of the whole big band era. His orchestra on the recordings you hear in this upload was much smaller. I don't know the recording date, but I presume late 1950s.
