During the Second World War, there were many concentration camps in which slaughter, execution and torture was carried out inside of the barbed wire fences. One of the forgotten and lesser-known concentration camps was known as Wöbbelin, which was a sub-camp of Neuengamme but in the final days of World War 2, thousands of prisoners were sent to Wöbbelin and were simply forgotten.
The American Army liberated the camp, and they found 4,000 prisoners inside with no food or water, and they also found 1,000 corpses lying around the camp. They were disgusted by what they saw, and they went to the local town of Ludwigslust and they forced the German people to witness the crimes of the Nazis and SS, and also then bury the bodies in mass graves.
