One of the biggest fears during World War 2 that Allied soldiers had was becoming a prisoner of war of the Japanese. Thousands of prisoners died in their captivity, but one man who was responsible for the POW camps in the Philippines was Hong Sa-Ik. He was a general in the Japanese Army and his actions were said to have been a war crime. But he was then for his actions executed on the gallows.
