We're getting close to the end of the Fontaine updates, with only a few days left. As Version 5.0 is almost here, we already have some details about Version 5.1, including upcoming new characters and their gameplay kit. In this video, we will review who these characters are and what we know about them. Remember, this info comes from leaks and rumors, so it might change when Version 5.1 officially launches.
Let's start with the first new character in 5.1. As you probably know, the only character confirmed for version 5.1 is Xilonen. We've got detailed info about her, with a few recent updates. Some new 5.1 leaks about Xilonen's abilities have got me pretty excited about her release. Xilonen is a new Geo character from Natlan, though we don't know much about her other than her design. She has an adult female body type, blonde hair, cat-like ears, and green eyes. Her Geo Vision is confirmed since she wears it as a necklace. Xilonen is just one of many new Natlan characters, but her exact release date hasn’t been confirmed by HoYoverse. The first Natlan characters to be playable will be Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina. Beyond that, the developer hasn’t shared when we can expect to see more new units from the Pyro Nation. However, leaks suggest that Xilonen might be a new character in Version 5.1. Even before the teaser trailer showing the Natlan characters, there were already leaks about a Geo character in 5.1, giving us some hints about her possible abilities. Now, more information about Xilonen’s rumored skills has apparently been leaked.
A new piece of info from a leaker named Foul, shared in a post tagged as “Questionable” on Reddit, suggests that Xilonen’s Elemental Skill will be able to reduce enemies' resistance. The leak says the Resistance reduction is about 36% of the enemy’s total. This would make enemies take more damage from the team’s main DPS. It looks like Xilonen will work as a debuffer and support for her party, helping other team members deal more damage.
The leak also mentions that at Constellation level 4, Xilonen gets a Defense buff, which might be stackable. This suggests that her abilities will scale with her Defense stat, which makes sense since she’s a Geo character. Another leak from Foul, also tagged as “Questionable” on Reddit, talks about Xilonen’s rumored signature weapon. According to the leak, her weapon has a Defense sub-stat, boosts Normal Attacks based on her Defense, and this effect might be stackable too.
The leak also says that her signature weapon provides CRIT Rate, CRIT Damage, and Elemental Damage bonuses to the team based on the user's Defense stat. If true, this supports the idea that Xilonen is a support character. The rumor that Xilonen has a signature weapon also suggests she’ll be a 5-star unit. Usually, only 5-star characters have signature weapons. Some 4-star units, like Sethos with the Scion of the Blazing Sun, are known for using certain weapons, but those aren’t their signature weapons in Genshin Impact.
Xilonen isn’t the only character expected in version 5.1. A new leak from DK2 suggests that a 4-star character named iansan will also be released in the version 5.1 update. This information was backed up by hxg_diluc on X, a reliable source in the community, so it’s likely to be accurate. If iansan is released in 5.1, the developers will probably start teasing her two days before version 5.0 drops.
