Stalking is a very serious matter that can leave victims permanently traumatised and paranoid, unable to escape, which is what this film is about. With information so freely available it is up to us to respect people's privacy and respect individual's boundaries. Stalking is a crime and is a serious form of harassment.
In the 2008/9 British Crime Survey, it was estimated that 20% of Women will experience stalking or harassment in their lifetimes. Women studens are at particular risk. In the Hidden Marks Report (2010) 12% of women students who were asked if anyone had repeatedly followed them, watched them, phoned, texted, written, e-mailed, contacted them through social networking sites, or communicated in other ways that seemed obsessive or made them afraid or concerned for their safety, responded that they had experienced this sort of behaviour. The most striking statistic is that in most cases, the stalker is known to the victim prior to the crime being committed.
