How To Change Password On Instagram

In this quick tech how-to video, I’m going to show you two different ways to change your Instagram password. The first is if you know your current password and just want to switch it up for security reasons which is always a good idea, and the next is if you’ve forgotten your current one and need to do a reset.

Let’s change our current one. Head into the Instagram append tap the three-line menu button on the top right.

Next, go to Settings.

In here tap Security, and then Password at the top.

Enter your current password and then enter your new one twice. When you’re done hit Save in the top right and you’re good to go.

Next, let’s reset an Instagram password that we’ve forgotten. This process cannot be done inside of the Instagram app, so we’ll have to do it in a browser.

Open Safari and head to Instagram.com. If you’re logged into the browser Instagram here, you’ll have to log out.

When you’re at the login page, tap Forgot Password under the login section.

Enter your email, phone number, or username and hit Send Login Link. This will then send you a password reset to your email.

Head to your email and click through the reset password link that Instagram sends you. It will then open back up in the browser where you can then enter your new password. When you’re finished tap Reset Password.

And that’s how you either change or reset a forgotten password inside of Instagram.
