Audiobooks on YouTube Experiment and SURPRISE Announcement | M.K. Williams Self-Published Audiobooks
Back in late 2022, I had just self-published Interview with a #Vanlifer and I had to go right into launch mode for the Author Your Ambition workbook. I have set it as a goal, a mission, that all my books will have an audiobook. As a means of accessibility, this is important to me. But with a toddler and a book launch, I didn’t have time to narrate this short story, even if it was only an hour long. So I used the Google Play auto narration function. (Yes, I know AI is evil, but the person who was out of a narration job, in this case, was …myself, and I needed the time back to do other things.)
[time out, okay I did have a dream of hiring Christian Slater to narrate this, but I’m assuming he is out of my price range. Given the royalties on a 99-cent short story about eco vampires which is hard to place in the correct categories on Amazon because it's not horror but it is vampires, I’m assuming he is out of my price range. A woman at NINC did suggest reaching out and saying “ok let's have all the profits go to your favorite charity” which I love, but he should also be paid for his time. And now it is the end of 2023 and I have some time. So I recorded the human-narrated version. It is now available in all the places you find great audiobooks.
But I still have the AI version.
And I’ve been meaning to test adding my audiobooks to YouTube … sooo

I’ve added that one too. I’m doing a bit of an experiment. So Interview with a #Vanlifer is one long video. Escaping Avila Chase is broken up into small videos. I want to see which one does better. I know it isn’t a true test, but I’m curious.
I’m tinkering with the idea of adding the first chapter of my full-length novels as well. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
