Section views are a powerful tool in SolidWorks that allow you to see the inner details of a model or assembly by virtually cutting through it. This is particularly useful for creating technical drawings that clearly communicate the design intent.
You create a section view based on an existing view in your drawing document. You define a cutting line, which can be straight, offset, or even include arcs, to specify the area you want to reveal. SolidWorks hides everything behind the cutting line in the resulting section view.
