Portal Revolution acts as a fanmade prequel to Portal 2 where you, an anonymous test subject, are being used by a personality core to experiment with new devices to repair the damaged laboratories. The entire game is made free of charge and hosts 7 chapters for a total of around two hours of gameplay (considering you know all the solutions to the puzzles).
A few mechanics are new, such as suction vents and paired laser cubes (both which never appeared in Portal 2).

✅ GAME TIPS
Discouragement Redirection Cubes and Edgeless Safety Cubes (aka the laser box and the white ball) can both be used on the red buttons instead of boxes, which as trick is an integral part of most puzzles in this mod.
Often you'll need to redirect lasers directly through glass panels where a laser point is hidden behind, which at first sight doesn't look very logical. They will simply laser through them, however, and it's required to access exits in some puzzles.
You can safely grab any item in the game and fly through portals without them getting stuck or left behind, even at high speeds.
The game has an inherent mechanic which will guide you roughly through the portal's centerpoint when flying back and forth, to prevent random landing results from happening. This is important to remember, because many puzzles only have one solution to them.
In the middle section of the game, many portable surfaces are hard to see at first sight. If you are stuck and don't see a way out, try to hit whiteish surfaces or panels to see if you missed a passageway.
✅ LEVEL TIPS
Even though sections 1 and 2 seem complicated and open-world, they are in fact quite linear. There is only one way to reach the end of each, so if you follow the path in the video closely you can avoid wasting time exploring dead ends.
In section 2 you do not automatically pick up the new Portal Gun by running into it. You have to press E to grab it from the mannequin.
The moment you pick up Emilia (the female personality core) you cannot drop her in any way. The only way to unhook her is to get to the plug in the wall.
