Resisted Sprint Methods: Choosing the Right Option

One of the most common questions I get from coaches and athletes is how should they incorporated resisted work into their sprinting sessions. There are a lot of options to choose from and knowing which method is the best for you may depend on a number of factors.

In this video, we review some of the more common methods of adding resistance to a sprint workout. In almost all cases, the purpose is to add load in order to effect both a physiological effect (improved strength and power) and a technical improvement (optimized acceleration posture). The key is to not get too far away from the desired goal, which is to ultimately accelerate and sprint faster.
