This simple tip in excel displays a combination of alternating TRUE and FALSE pattern for a selected area in worksheet, resulting in 0s and 1s which can be interpreted in conditional formatting to be a color or no color. The formula combination of four functions to develop this pattern is given below:
=MOD(ROW(),2)=MOD(COLUMN(),2)
You can use this formula to save time and develop chequered or chessboard pattern for your custom designs in Excel. You may also utilize this to develop board games in excel. A smart way to save time and apply customized chequered pattern to your worksheet.
