Meet the sugar flying marsupial, aka sugar flying possum, or pygmy flying marsupial, or short-headed flying squirrel (Petaurus breviceps) — marsupial mammals of the family of flying marsupials.

In general, the family of flying marsupials is a small possum (not to be confused with the psychic American opposum), which is characterized by a dark longitudinal stripe on the back, running from the head to the tail. Some species have a skin membrane between the front and hind legs, similar to the gliding membrane of flying squirrels.

The sugar marsupial flying squirrel really does resemble a squirrel. Body length-up to 21 cm, tail too. And the body weight is up to 170 grams. The body is thin, however, the presence of a flying membrane gives the impression that the body is very wide. The tail is fluffy, longer than the body. By twisting the tail into a spring, possums can carry small objects, such as twigs for the nest. Well, since this milota is a nocturnal animal, their large and bulging eyes are adapted for night vision. The ears are also large and very mobile, which contributes to hunting in the dark.
