Herceg Novi / Montenegro is a coastal town located at the Western entrance to the Bay of Kotor, Coming from Dubrovnik / Croatia on the way to Kotor it is the first stops.

Herceg Novi was called Castelnuovo ("New castle" in Italian) between 1482 and 1797 as part of the Ottoman Empire. Nowadays it is a popular with Russian and Serbian tourists who enjoy its calm atmosphere, beautiful vantage points, and seaside promenade. With just around 33.000 inhabitants it is less crowded compared to the most popular Montenegro vacation places Kotor and Budva.

We start our tour at the top castle, walk all around there and head downhill and around the sea. There we see the promenade before we walk around more, always taking the many steps going up and down the hillside. We end our tour with the beautiful sunset overlooking the lower sea castle ruins.
