Art and Music Assemblage
My assemblage is inspired by music, art, and entertainment forming a distraction or relief from reality. I’m incorporating a juxtaposition of classical, delicate pieces such as the tea pot, the bust of Mozart, the angel playing violin, and the clock, with hand-painted surrealist art inspired by Salvador Dali, whimsical blue brushstrokes throughout, and painted earbuds hanging from the ceiling. My assemblage is its own little world, an escape from the day to day, an exploration of surrealist art and music. I personally grew up as an artist and as a musician and I played violin for the majority of my childhood, so these things from my life are incorporated in this piece. I really want the importance of creativity to stand out in my piece, that without creatives we would have little escape from the black and white, everyday, world.
