All it takes is a quick test of the smoke alarm to avoid disaster. Just ask Lisa.
It all happened so fast - one moment Lisa (15) was watching TV with her sister and aunt, and the next, BOOM! There was a loud crash from the kitchen and smoke everywhere. Lisa’s aunt had forgotten to turn off the stove, which caused a glass pot to explode sending flames shooting onto the carpet. Lisa remembers clinging to her sister in shock and summoning the strength to let her sister know they’d make it out safely.
Her advice? Check your smoke alarms - just in case.
