OpenVINO is an open-source toolkit for optimizing and deploying AI inference onto Intel hardware. Created four years ago, the project was originally developed from a need to do a lot of deep analytics and analysis in factories, retail stores, and hospitals on computer vision data. At the time, there was no solution optimized for Intel hardware so Intel decided to develop its own. Matthew Formica, Senior Director, AI Inference (OpenVINO) Product Marketing & Developer Ecosystem at Intel, discusses the OpenVINO project in this video.
