Without a great resume, you've lost before you've even gotten to first base.
These three tips will increase your chances in the job market.
1. Start your sentences with action words when describing your duties. Eg. Managed a team of developers....Organized the filing system, etc.
2. You don't need to include ever job you've ever done since high school. Keep your resume to a maximum of 2 pages in length. I typically recommend only including your last 7-10 years of experience but make sure it's experience that is relevant to the jobs you're applying for. The exception to this are technical resumes where employers typically want to see a project list.
3. Include a short quote from a performance appraisal or written reference letter from a past employer. Put it in quotes and include the manager's name (but only with their permission).
