Iran, not the United States, was first to fly the F-14 in combat. In Sept. 7, 1980, five Mil Mi-25 helicopters of the Iraqi air force crossed the Iranian border and two F-14s from TFB.7 in Iran are vectored to intercept.
The lead Tomcat flown by Maj. Kamal Jamshidi and his RIO 2nd Lt. Pasha-Pour visually acquired one of the Mi-25s and dived to attack. Being at close range Jamshidi selected Guns and placed the gunsight pipper over the rearmost Mi-25, he opened fire! The Mi-25 was badly damaged and crashed in the Desert.
This is the most realistic F-14 Simulation ever made for the PC.
