Adobe's Photoshop (beta) app has introduced Generative Fill, a suite of AI-powered tools that allow users to add, replace, extend, or remove content from their images using text prompts. After hitting the 'Generate' button, users can view multiple variations of their desired change. The changes are made on a new Generative Layer, allowing users to reverse the effects when desired.

Generative Fill has several benefits, including the ability to deliver high-quality results in seconds, enhancing creativity, and maintaining control over creative outputs. The feature is powered by Adobe Firefly, an AI model that ensures content generation based on high-quality, licensed images, not infringing on other people's work, brands, or intellectual property.

While using Generative Fill, users are advised to use simple and direct language in their text prompts, use layers for non-destructive editing, ensure the selected area for extension has enough pixels, and use other Photoshop tools to refine their image further.
