The following film is dedicated to our late friend Connor Pelletier-Commanda and to the community of Serpent River First Nation.

Serpent River First Nation holds a special place in my heart. For the last four summers i’ve had the opportunity to work with children, friends and families from the community to run a day camp through Daystar and Doxa Journeys.
During our stay this summer, Serpent River First Nation suffered a devastating loss with the passing of our friend Connor Pelletier-Commanda.
As we mourned this loss with the community, we decided to re-write the script we had prior and focus on the simple things that make Serpent River so important to us. The simple things became clearer the more we remembered to value what little time we may have with one another.

Special thanks to Nicholas Dookheran for helping to write and improve the script !
You helped find away to tell a story that the visuals wouldn’t have been able to do by itself! Great work bud!
Also a big thank you for lending your voice to narrate!

Special Thanks to Ezekiel Gancena for engineering!
The audio mix sounds awesome and we couldn’t have asked for a better friend to help us out!

A big shout out to Sarah, our team leader along the whole trip! You did an amazing job blessing us with such a truly meaningful experience. Your knowledge, advice and passion for leadership among youth does not go unnoticed. You’re a great person and we hope you continue to do great things!

To the community of Serpent River First Nation, we hope that this film captures how important you mean to us and the simple things in life we may, at times take for granted.
