Zoom H4N vs Zoom H2N Audio Tests | DSLR Audio

Recently picked up a Zoom H2N simply because its battery life is 5x better than the Zoom H4N, which I sometimes use as a backup "room audio" source for my work.
In the first test it's pretty obvious the Zoom H4N is clearer and warmer sounding, this actually has alot to do with the way I was holding the Zoom H2N (pointing the top of it towards my mouth rather than the side of it). The second test shows that they are both close in terms of audio quality but the Zoom H4N still tops it in terms of stereo (speech) recording.
I didn't actually realize the thread (for a tripod) is on the bottom of the Zoom H2N, meaning you have to have it in an upright position, which actually blatantly makes sense given it can recorder 4 channel surround sound and mid-side recording patterns. While the battery life does appeal, I may go for the Tascam DR-05 or DR-07 ii and give them a try now in comparison to the Zoom H4N.
