Thoughts
I like the sound of the Zoom H1 and Giant Squid lav the best, I like more of a bassy sound to vocal recordings. I was surprised and a bit disappointed with the Rode NTG-1, sounds a little harsh on the high end, a little too bright for my liking. Please comment below if you have good shotgun microphone suggestions to use that would give a bit of a fuller/ bassy sound to my vocal recordings. So far quite pleased with the Tascam DR-70D preamps, they are much improved over the Zoom H4N but also still far from perfect.
