How to Redeem Xbox Live Gold Membership Code - Activate Xbox Live Gold Subscription on Xbox One
If you have an Xbox Live Gold Card you want to use, watch this short video and I'll show you how to redeem it so you can start playing with friends online. This tutorial applies to codes found on physical cards and other delivery methods like email. These instructions apply to Xbox One as well as the Xbox Series X/S consoles. Today, I have an Xbox Live Gold code that was emailed to me. On the Xbox, select and open the Store tab. Go to the left column and scroll down and select Redeem.
This is the place to enter the Xbox Live Gold code. An important thing to know is that official Xbox Live Gold codes are 25-digits long. That's definitely a requirement! If you have more or less characters, it's not a valid Xbox code. Codes that are not 25-digits will have to be redeemed on the website that issued them before you will be sent an official code. When done, select the Enter button on the bottom right.
At this time, it's a good idea to confirm the Xbox profile that will receive the Gold status. This is important because the subscription will be activated on this account. And there's no way to transfer Xbox Live Gold to another Xbox account if you redeem to the wrong one. So, if the email address shown on the screen is incorrect, cancel and then log into the correct user profile before redeeming the code. Then select Next. On the next screen select Confirm to redeem the Xbox Live Gold code. And that's basically how you do it! On the last screen just close out of the menu.
To check time I have left on my Gold subscription, go to Settings. Then under Account go to Subscriptions. And here the date will be shown when the Xbox Live Gold will expire.
Here's the final thing you need to know. You can redeem up to 3 years worth of Xbox Live Gold in a single user account. The subscriptions will just add up but can never exceed 3 years in total. So hold onto additional codes and redeem later if you have more than 3 years worth.
