The Sabbath isn't only about me experiencing rest, it's a day for me to extend rest to everyone around me, regardless of what they believe, what they have done, where they are from, or how much money they have. The goal of the 7th day Sabbath is equality for all.
The Sabbath allows us to practically experience the equality, and thereby unity, we have in Christ where there is "no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus." –Galatians 3:28.
Isaiah 56 predicted, and Acts 13 began to fulfill the prediction, that the Sabbath is intended for gathering gentiles and everyone who is outcast to be a part of spiritual Israel. It's about inclusivity, not exclusiveness.
Understanding the 7th day Sabbath this way leads us to humility rather than a feeling of superiority. The jews had the right day, but their sense of superiority led them to reject the very message that drew gentiles to worship on the 7th day Sabbath. God calls us to a deeper understanding: The goal of the 7th day Sabbath is equality for all.
