Texas Rangers reliever Josh Sborz threw the final pitch to clinch the first World Series championship for the franchise in 2023, but 2024 was filled with injuries. Sborz underwent surgery on his shoulder and is expected to miss the first 2-3 months of the 2025 season. Chris Young will need to build a bullpen nearly from scratch this winter or get big help from rookies in 2025.
Dane Dunning avoided arbitration by taking a pay cut to return to Texas. The Rangers did not non-tender any players but might head to arbitration with Nathaniel Lowe, Jonah Heim and Leody Taveras.
Yusei Kikuchi signed a 3-year deal with the Angels, setting a possible floor for free agent pitcher that might affect Nathan Eovaldi's return to the Rangers.
