This video uses computer simulations from to show how ribosomes translates mRNA into polypeptides.

Genetic messages called genes are stored in DNA molecules. These messages are copied into RNA molecules during a process called genetic transcription. The mRNA molecules are then read by ribosomes and the sequences of the bases determine a sequence of amino acids that will be linked together forming a polypeptide.

The translation model from the Concord Consortium can be manipulated by users to alter the sequence of DNA that will be transcribed and translated.
