FIRST AND FOREMOST: I feel like there's going to be a lot of disappointment that Potential for Anything is NOT in here since it's most people's favorite track. I will say that I tried very hard to fit it in here but was unhappy with how much of the other songs I had to take away from to make room for it. Plus I felt like instead of trying to cram it in at the end would have felt like too much. I think you can kind of tell that I originally arranged this to go into Potential for Anything right after Positive Force. You're as upset as I am that it didn't make the cut but I've made plans to give it it's own cover at some point in the future since it deserves that anyway.

I just got back from hanging out with composer Danny Baranowsky for a week and learned a lot about mixing from him and it made me realize that I have had a really hard time with tightening up my low end in these covers. I had an extraordinarily limited time to work on this but seeing it in a new light has given me a much more clear route to go in for future covers. I made a great effort to keep everything super clear in this mix since the original songs are so thick with content, I even had to shift some octaves on lines to make them make sense on guitar! VVVVVV's soundtrack is a work of genius and it's a crime that I haven't had a go at these songs earlier since I probably beat the game over a year ago. Got to play around more with some 808 beats and side chain compression for the first time too! It amazes me that I can do this almost every week for three years and still keep finding new techniques to try!

Next month I think it's in all of our best interest go with some happier covers like this one. Until then though, Veni Vidi Vici!
