A little over a week ago, I joined my friends for our annual charity event where we raised $424k for Direct Relief! It was such a good time, but it was on the other side of the country and I'm not much of a plane sleeper so I'm always looking for good games for the plane trips. While I was there, The8BitDrummer told me about this game Pizza Tower and after immediately downloading it, the entire plane trip went by in no time. It's been a while since I've played a 2D platformer that scratched the itch and this one does that and more for me.
I knew prior to playing it all the hype surrounding this song, but nothing could have prepared me for how it FEELS in the game. Beginning my arrangement of this was the first thing I did when I got home. I knew there would be a lot of technical tricks needed to tackle it, like making the decision of doing the digital speed ups, which always sound weird with metal, or trying to just keep doing key changes. I ended up somewhere in the middle for those parts and added some stuff in the empty sections so I could have something to do in the video.
Unfortunately, the computer I mix and master on crapped out on me right after exporting the first master I made to send to Tyler so I had to just go with the first pass. It wasn't bad, there was just a lot I would have wanted to touch up. I put a ton of time into reimagining my snare drum tone and hoping to keep it close to this for the future. Hope you enjoy!
