Understanding Object Networks in Cisco ASA Firewall Devices
Before we go ahead further into the course, it is essential to learn the concept of Object Networks
Object Network is a precise way to represent a set of IP ADDRESSES
Set of IP Addresses can be represented in three ways :
Collection of individual ip addresses : 1.1.1.1 , 4.4.3.2 etc
Subnets : 2.2.2.0/24 [2.2.2.0 – 2.2.2.255]
Range : 2.2.2.10 – 2.2.2.20
ON are used to represent collection of addresses using exactly one of the above technique.
ON are named
ON simplify the configuration where we need to specify the set of IP addresses on which some common rules need to be applied
