The Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and Elbit Systems have completed a series of tests of the Iron Fist Active Protection System (APS) .

The defense system, which is integrated into the Eitan armored vehicle (AFV) , is capable of countering anti-tank threats in a variety of challenging scenarios.

The Iron Fist system is an advanced active protection system that provides 360-degree protection against multi-range threats in open and urban environments.

The system, the company says, includes an electro-optical sensor suit, a search and track radar, and a reaction suit with launchers and interceptors.

In addition to its defensive capabilities, Iron Fist provides armored combat teams with the location of the fire source.

This system will then be installed on the Eitan and the D9 armored bulldozer.

Regarding the Eitan , it is an armored armored vehicle developed by the Merkava and Armored Vehicles Directorate in the Israeli Ministry of Defence.

The Eitan replaces the aging M113 armored personnel carrier used by the Israel Defense Forces.

The Eitan AFV was launched for the first time on 1 August 2016. This 8X8 vehicle weighs less than 35 tons.

The AFV has a top speed of 90 km/h and can carry 12 people including 3 crew members.

The Eitan is equipped with a 30-40 mm gun. His armor is STANAG 4569 level 4.
