DF no.300 - Sizzle cymbals, vintage Paiste 602, & A. Zildjian, 1960s Premier kit, freeform drum solo
Just had an idea to play something using all the sizzle cymbals and effects (plug / ball chains) laying around. I haven't done one of these free-form solos for a while so feeling a bit rusty. Assembled from several takes and - as usual - far too long, sorry.
Front to back:
A.Zildjian ~1970 15" top hi-hat with 6 rivets added by me, Paiste 602 bottom
Late 60s/early 70s Paiste Formula 602s:
18" Thin, with chain
22" medium ride with 6 factory rivets
20" Thin, with chain
1960s A. Zildjian 18" with 8 rivets added by me.
Drums are ~1968 Premier, all birch shells, 20"/12"/16".
Usual recording method: room sound only via older model Tascam field recorder out front (mainly) and cheap condenser overhead going into the Nikon D600 DSLR. Some compression added via Audacity.
