Full Metal Aluvia | Review and Typing Sounds
The Aluvia is a US$375 premium, all aluminum keycap set. The Aluvia uses the same colorway as the classic GMK Olivia, which means it is just as gorgeous! Definitely grab one if you are looking for something with the same colors.
Aluminum is very hefty and so, as you can hear from the typing tests, there is abit of metallic ping on the upstroke. This metallic sound is more muted on the polycarbonate Mark: 65 so I'd say go for plastic ABS/PC cases if you prefer cleaner acoustics.
Typing on it though feels very premium and solid, as if you are typing on gold. Typing feel is also great because the surface of the keycap is really just so smooth.
The process of putting on the keycaps however is troublesome because of the sharp metal edges, but this also means that it is likely to be more durable than GMK ABS/PBT plastics which shine over time. The colors are anodized so I won't be too worried about rust/oxidation but who knows, after 5years or so...?
All in all a great keycap set but the price tag is very out of reach for most people. Definitely grab one if you are looking for a showpiece to flaunt your wealth. Or if you are looking for a really expensive and premium typing experience.
