Shimakaze is one of the most famous (infamous?) destroyers in all of World of Warships. Long associated with the meme-tacular "wall of skill", her ability to vomit out fifteen torpedoes all at once is the stuff that battleship nightmares are made of. In the modern era, though, Shimakaze comes with a bit of baggage and fights a significant uphill battle against planes, radar, speedier gunboats, and the proliferation of Hydroacoustic Search on so many opposing ships. In this video I'll talk about how I build my Shimakaze, why I fit her out that way, how I recommend playing her, and follow all of that up with a game demonstrating the ship in action.
